Unlike many graduate level consultants our Principal Consultant, Noel MacKenzie has done this job himself and understands the conflicting demands and challenges that multi-sports Ground Managers face. With expert knowledge on soil science, management techniques and experience at a high level in each of the sports on site Noel MacKenzie is in a strong position to support grounds staff and their managers.
Noel MacKenzie brings to the inspection experience unparalleled in the industry having worked on County Standard bowling greens, County Standard cricket pitches, all-England level grass hockey and virtually every type of sports pitch. He has consulted on many high standard venues utilising academic training from three leading universities. With experience in artificial and MUGA surfaces and turf/synthetic hybrid systems there is plenty Sports Turf Consulting Ltd. has to offer.
Crucially, Noel also brings an awareness of the complexity of managing all the resources and demands of such sites. He understands the complex human and departmental relationships that may prevail and the management of expectations which often far exceed the reality of what is possible with existing budgets and resources.

Such large sites represent extensive capital and maintenance budgets in their successful and safe operation. It is prudent to undertake an independent review of such facilities, the condition of the sports surfaces and to ensure operations are optimised for best outcomes. Such surveys also tend to highlight the up and coming issues, for example need for drainage, irrigation, decline in surface levels, or other issues. Having managed such large sites the value of having input from an independent source cannot be underestimated both for the institution operating the site but also for their staff to feel supported and who benefit from on-site stimulus from an expert Agronomist in tackling the daunting challenge such sites present. With 28+ years of consultancy experience, 5 years hands-on experience and a very high level of academic and practical training Noel MacKenzie is well placed to provide a service level suitable for the best multi-sport and multi-use grounds.
